Olfaction (the sense of smell) is one of our most powerful senses. In our Scent Stories series Aja Botanicals founder, Tilly Wood, invites people to talk to her about how they use scent in their lives to create ambience and influence their state of mind, as well as sharing what moments, memories, people and activities certain scents evoke for them.
The first in our Scent Stories series features Tilly’s long-term friend and collaborator, photographer Tierney Gearon, talking about the different smells she associates with places she has travelled to and how she uses skincare products with subtle, natural scents to help her unwind.
Tierney Gearon is a photographer and artist with a highly acclaimed career as a commercial and fashion photographer, but who became best known for her personal work when she turned the lens on her family and domestic life. The New York Times commissioned her to create a series of short films, featuring 13 Oscar-winning women, and her photography work has been exhibited at venues ranging from the Saatchi Gallery in London to the Parrish Art Museum in New York; tierneygearon.com
