Tamara Cincik's approach to wellbeing

Posted by Joshua Young on

Following on from the success of last week’s Creative Wellbeing event at Gold in Notting Hill, we caught up with Tamara Cincik of Fashion Roundtable, fashion’s leading think tank and change agency.

Fashion Roundtable are unique in that they are the only organisation that delivers creative leadership to solve the world’s pressing social, environmental and economic problems. As CEO and Founder, she leads a world class team to focus on creative industry issues, heritage crafts, industrial legacies, and an innovation-led future. Tamara is also the founder of Great British Wool Revival, Commissioner for the UK Trade and Business Commission and an LPIP Fellow for Birmingham University.

The Creative Wellbeing Economy, developed by Tamara and her team is a framework to solve the world's pressing social, environmental and economic problems, and refocus the definitions of what is success, and what societies need, all through a creatively driven, wellbeing supportive agenda.

Tamara’s approach to wellbeing:

“I have always been a person focused on health and wellbeing is core to all of, not just part of, my life.”

How has this shaped your life?

“I am a trained Masseur, I studied herbalism, Tibetan medicine, flower essences, permaculture, yoga, meditation and dance. I have an allotment and grow our vegetables, fruits and flowers and know that when I connect with my body and with nature I feel better and I am fitter.”

How do you find balance in the full and rich life you live?

“I can live with the flexility and health I feel is core to keeping balance in busy and challenging times. I exercise every day and I am filler free using conscious treatments and brands which align with my values supporting small beauty brands, for instance.”

What does wellbeing mean to you?

“Wellbeing is also to me about aligning with how we consume and ensuring we are conscious consumers.

I love backing onto and facing woods and this allows nature into my London busy life. For that I feel very lucky. I have been vegan since 1993 and I don’t drink and never smoked. “
