Aja Botanicals was born out of a love for the British countryside and a desire to create natural fragrances that truly connect us to nature.
We asked Tilly to tell us about Wild Horses.
“When I studied perfumery, I fell in love with leather fragrances and knew I wanted to create one for us. Marina Barcenilla is such a talented perfumer. I studied with her, so she really understood the kind of leather I had in mind. For me, it’s a soft, suede-like leather; warm, textured and intimate.”
Why is it called Wild Horses?
“All of our fragrances are named after songs, and as this was a leather fragrance, Wild Horses felt perfect. It captures the spirit of the scent, with its sense of freedom, emotion and strength. It’s also one of my favourite songs by The Rolling Stones.”
Who is Wild Horses for?
“Wild Horses is for men and women. It has a skin-like feel, a natural muskiness that’s both sensual and a little animalic. It’s sophisticated but carries a sense of liberty and depth. I think it’s for the free spirits and deep thinkers. There’s the grounding richness of leather, tobacco and sandalwood, balanced by the light floral notes of orris and the honeyed warmth of osmanthus.”
