Music has always been my greatest inspiration—a constant companion through every chapter of life. Growing up in the 70s, my childhood was set to the sounds of Donna Summer, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, and Rod Stewart, thanks to my dad’s ever-present record collection. There was always music playing at home, and it shaped the way I experienced the world.

Like many, my life has had its own evolving soundtrack. As a teenager in the 80s, Madonna and Cyndi Lauper were icons—“Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” really did sum it all up! The early 90s brought outdoor raves and legendary rock bands—Nirvana, The Killers, Kings of Leon, Radiohead—alongside unforgettable live experiences at Glastonbury and concerts by Santana, Gil Scott-Heron, and the Grateful Dead. Music has always touched my soul. There’s nothing quite like the elation of a live band—the energy, the dancing, the feeling of connection and love that fills the air. Music is now a huge part of my family's life, there's nothing better than going to gigs together.
When I founded Aja Botanicals, it felt natural to name each fragrance after a song that resonated deeply with me. Each scent is a tribute to the music that has shaped my life and spirit:
-
Into the Mystic: Inspired by Van Morrison’s cult classic, it's about transformation, a mystical journey. with it warm woody notes igniting a sense of divinity within and all around. Nature is the great connector.
-
Walk on the Wild Side: Named for Lou Reed’s iconic track, this smoky, leathery scent channels a cool, nonchalant edge—the spirit of New York’s streets and London's Bloomsbury set.
-
Hello I Love You: Borrowing from The Doors, this fragrance is a message of love in floral form—flowers so often carry the message of love and joy.
-
Dreams: The perfect track for a scent that evokes other worlds and alternate dimensions. Whether you’re daydreaming, meditating, or visualising a new dream, this herbaceous, spa-like fragrance captures that ethereal essence.
At Aja Botanicals, each fragrance is more than a scent—it’s a memory, a feeling, a song.
My hope is that they become part of your own soundtrack, uplifting your spirit and filling your space with beauty and love.
