A personal reflection on finding balance and welcoming the season ahead.
September has felt like Virgo in action. Organisation, setting new habits and that back-to-school feeling. I cleaned the garage. We had someone in to tidy the garden. I have been more regular at the gym. At work, we have been packing, organising the office, finalising new products for the festive months ahead and reaching out to new partners. It has been practical and grounding. Very Virgo. But I'm looking forward to Libra season now. Curious about diving deeper? Kirsty Gallagher offers some great insights.
Finding balance
As we arrive at the Autumn Equinox, when day and night are equal, we step into Libra season. Balance, harmony and connection - it fits how the month is unfolding. We start making dates, booking events and opening the diary to the months to come. I am feeling a sense of balance because of the work over the past few weeks, as we move from an earth sign to an air sign. Connection for me begins with love, and that starts with the self. This month, I want to balance the yang energy of the gym with the yin energy of yoga or pilates. I love my F45 classes, and I also want to keep up the meditations on the Shakti mat. Clearing out the old to make way for the new has felt like self-care. My first bed sheet laundry delivery arrived, and just looking at the perfectly ironed sheets in the bag brought me joy. I have not even used them yet!
Here's what I'm doing
Harvest season is here, and gratitude feels like the right frequency. Berries on the trees. Leaves are beginning to fall. Autumn brings that sweep of colour that makes you slow down and wonder. Aja, our namesake, is all about the importance of balance in nature, and the same is true for us. Good food. Enough sleep. Walks that ground me. Breathing that steadies me. And also the reach for the stars. Visualisation. Learning how to manifest the things I can see so clearly in my mind. I am currently following Regan Hillyer’s programme on Mindvalley, and I love her.
Evening rituals
At home, it has been simple. A warm light in the evening and a nice glass of red wine. A calm scent by the doorway. A decorated table that brings the family together for dinner. Hello I Love You signifies connection to self and to each other, so it is my favourite for the evenings right now.
