A new coat, a great French restaurant and an inspiring Jeff Buckley documentary, just a few of the things that Tilly Loves as September begins.
"As September settles in and the evenings start to draw close, I find myself craving a few indulgences and mindful moments that make the transition into autumn feel important. Here’s what’s inspiring me this month."
This month's muse
I’ve been completely captivated by the Jeff Buckley documentary, It’s Never Over. It’s a moving portrait of his life and artistry—well worth a watch if you’re in need of a little soul-stirring inspiration. Buckley’s only solo album, Grace, remains one of the greatest; “Last Goodbye” is simply brilliant. There’s a raw beauty to his music that feels both nostalgic and utterly new—an emotional honesty that lingers long after the final note.
Fashion
Autumn for me is all about the beautiful colours—warm yellows, browns, and oranges, just as the leaves are turning. I just treated myself to a dark brown, mid-weight oversized coat from Massimo Dutti.
Beauty
This month, I’ve been loving face yoga with Ross Duttson. Once you learn a few simple techniques from Ross, you can practise face yoga any time of day. I’ve really noticed just how much tension I hold in my face—and there are some great techniques for preventing jowls! Who even knew that was going to happen? It’s become part of my daily routine—a few minutes here and there can make a difference.
Out & about
There’s a new love on our list - Chez Lui in Notting Hill - a charming French bistrot nestled in the heart of Notting Hill. Inspired by the ease of French dining and the convivial feel of a friend’s table, Chez Lui’s menu features soulful classics: roast chicken, beef tartare, and decadent chocolate mousse.
It’s the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch or cosy dinner. If you’re in the neighbourhood, we highly recommend a visit, and Chez Lui are new partners to Aja so you can find our fragrances there. Bon appétit!
The well-being edit
This month’s pick is Revive Wellness Centre in Weybridge, a cutting-edge wellness clinic focused on repair, renewal, and optimised wellbeing. Rather than a traditional holistic spa, Revive offers advanced therapies—think cryotherapy, red light therapy, oxygen chambers, and infrared saunas—all designed to help you recover and recharge.
Nature
There’s nowhere quite like Richmond Park as the leaves begin to turn—ancient trees, wild deer, and golden light. For something a little different, Hampstead Heath’s woodlands are equally enchanting: misty mornings, secret ponds, and sweeping city views.
Something that's made me happy
Right now, my favourite is a long bath with the Hello I Love You candle. This fragrance has bright floral notes, a resinous heart of frankincense, and a grounding base of cedarwood, making it perfect for this Autumn reset.
And love really is all that matters - love for yourself, love for your life, and love for others. When you nurture that feeling, you immediately feel more content and start vibrating at the frequency of the divine within and around us all. It’s always good to take time to relax, be present, and give yourself a moment -especially in these busy times.
